Endoscopic mid-face lift

As we age, gravity and fat deflation rob us of facial fullness. One area in which these effects can be seen is the midface area. This is the area from the lower eyelids to the nasolabial folds, (the lines from the nose to the corner of the mouth). Over time, the mid-face area descends and loses volume (flattens). This can make us appear more tired or older than we are.

An endoscopic mid face lift is designed to specifically address the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and to some degree, the area below the eyes. Surgery is performed under general anesthesia. The incisions are placed unnoticeably within the hairline of the temple area and on the inside of the mouth. With the use of the endoscope, the fat pads of the cheeks will be repositioned up and anchored with special sutures, over the cheekbones where they belong. This will reverse the first signs of aging and restore the youthful contour of the face.

As the mid face lift involves fewer regions than a full face lift the recovery time is shorter and the healing is faster. Pain and discomfort is not usually severe and this typically fades over a couple of days. Notice that this procedure cannot treat or modify the lower face (jowls) and neck making a full facelift for these areas necessary.

Enlargement of Male Breast (Gynecomastia)

Gynecomastia, or enlargement of the male breast, is a condition frequently associated with devastating social and emotional trauma. There are several potential causes for that such as    steroid abuse, obesity, genetic disorders or side effects of medications.

There are four grades of gynecomastia:
  I-minor but visible breast enlargement without skin excess;
  IIa-moderate breast enlargement without skin excess;
  IIb-moderate breast enlargement with minor skin excess;
  III-gross breast enlargement with skin excess so as to simulate a female breast.

Treatment depends on the degree of the gynecomastia. In Grade I and IIa and sometimes IIb, male breast reduction with liposuction using the tumescent technique is the most appropriate treatment. The procedure can be done under local anesthesia, with fast recovery, limited side effects and minimal scaring.

Excision techniques for male breast reduction are recommended where glandular breast tissue or excess skin must be removed to correct the breast enlargement (Grade IIb and III). Incision patterns vary and they can be done around the areola, under the breast or in the axilla.

Treatment with Liposuction costs between 2000-2500 euros.

LIPOSUCTION IN LOCAL ANESTHESIA

Although many non-surgical methods are available for removal of localized fat deposits, liposuction in local anesthesia still remains the most effective way to remove unwanted fat.

The technique (called tumescent) involves the injection of large volumes of diluted lidocaine (local anesthetic) and epinephrine (drug that shrinks vessels) into the fat under the skin. The lidocaine provides such complete local anesthesia, that it eliminates the need for general anesthesia, or IV sedation or “twilight sleep”.

Then a thin hollow tube, or cannula, is inserted through small incisions to loosen excess fat using a controlled back and forth motion. The dislodged fat is then suctioned out of the body using a surgical vacuum or syringe attached to the cannula.

The patient can return home almost immediately, the pain during the procedure and the following days is minimized, the bruising is minimal and the recovery is very fast. The new technique has eliminated the dangers and complications associated with the older forms of liposuctions in general anesthesia.

Common areas for the procedure include the hips, the arms, the neck and the belly.

Price can range between 2000-3000 euros.

MikroFUE

Hair Transplantation

Hair transplantation involves removing small pieces of hair-bearing scalp grafts (graft harvesting) from the back of the scalp (the donor site) and transfer them to bald or balding parts (the recipient site) of the scalp. There are a number of techniques used in hair replacement surgery. Sometimes, two or more techniques are used to achieve the best results.

Techniques
Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) or FU Harvesting
Individual follicular units containing 1 to 4 hairs are removed under local anesthesia and then inserted to the recipient site.Usually only small, punctate scars remain and any post-surgical pain is minimized. A complete shave of the head is necessary.

MikroFUE technique
This is an advanced and accurate application of FUE hair transplantation. In the MikroFUE technique, we obtain the individual hair micrografts which contain 1 or 2 or 3 hairs.

Strip Harvesting
A strip of scalp tissue is removed under local anesthesia, the wound is sutured and from the hairy strip the grafts are prepared. and placed to the recipient site.A thin linear scar remains in the donor area, which is typically covered by a patient's hair even at relatively short lengths.However Grafts have a higher survival rates than the other methods and complete scalp shave is not necessary.

Usually 25-40 follicular unit grafts per square centimeter are the transplanted densities and the number of grafts used can range between 1000 to 3000 per session. For larger areas, 2 to 3 sessions may have to be performed.

Prices depend on the technique and the number of grafts used.
